Competition Proposal

The proposal introduces an artificial volcano as a new landmark that reframes Valla's mix of fields, animals, sports, museums, and leisure. Rather than a conventional playground, the volcano works as a landscape structure, with slopes for grazing, sledding, sunbathing, climbing, and informal spectating, and a winding path that choreographs views and orientation. The summit becomes a civic platform, ceremonial and panoramic, linking imagination with exercise. Speculative smoke signals at the top connect the project to Linköping's innovation culture.
