Nordic Built Challenge – Fittja (2013)
Nordic Built Challenge, Fittja was the Swedish edition of a Nordic, multidisciplinary design competition initiated by Nordic Innovation. Teams were asked to propose sustainable, viable, and scalable refurbishment concepts. The brief was not for prototypes for a single building, but for approaches that could be repeated across similar housing stock. In Fittja, the case was about upgrading rental housing from the Million Programme era owned by AB Botkyrkabyggen, with a strong focus on balancing environmental performance with social and economic sustainability for residents.
My role was to co-organise the jury work: structuring the assessment process and coordinating jury documentation and reviews. The competition outcome fed into the pilot renovation concept later developed by NCC together with Spridd, completed as a pilot in 2016.
