Competition Proposal

The proposal introduced an artificial volcano as a new landmark that reframed Valla’s mix of fields, animals, sports, museums, and leisure. Rather than a conventional playground, the volcano functioned as a landscape structure: slopes for grazing, sledding, sunning, climbing, and informal spectatorship, with a winding path choreographing views and orientation. The summit became a civic platform, ceremonial and panoramic, linking imagination with exercise, and aligning with Linköping’s innovation culture through speculative smoke signals at the top.
