Commissioned to design a cushion/groundscape for 300 participants during an evening “sleeping concert,” we produced a 300 m² reclining landscape modeled on the island of Gotland—drawing on Swedish cultural shorthand that “everyone could fit there.” The surface reinterpreted geological and urban formations (raukar, lakes, Visby, stone settings) into an inhabitable topography. Attendance reached 600, doubling density and making the installation a real-time experiment in proximity, comfort, and collective spatial behavior.
